Mr. Danube, in its entire long and unforgettable journey toward eternity, here, in Đerdap, is exceptional in every respect. This is its widest and its narrowest point. Here it reaches the highest river depth in Europe (105 meters). It looks like a sea and like the king of rivers. ”As the forefather and as the lover.” It is adorned with a string of old fortifications, formerly guardians of roads and treasures, now witnesses that mundane powers are illusive and ephemeral (Golubac, Dijana, Fetislam, Ram...). The famous Tabula Traiana is also here, as well as the prehistory Lepenski Vir, and fascinating National Park ”Đerdap”, so many natural and cultural monuments.

Right here, 10 kilometers away from the exit from the Iron Gate and the zone of the National Park, there is Kladovo. The city famous for its love with the river, for its fishermen and caviar. A SUCCESSFUL MISSION IMPOSSIBLE

In 2006, Hotel-Tourist Company ”Plaža” from Belgrade, led by its Director and owner Mileta Adžić, decided to make a very courageous step. To build a hotel in a small town with population of 8,000 and return into the tourist map of Europe this beautiful but forgotten place? It sounded like mission impossible. Grim economic situation in the entire world, ”something ominous looms behind the hill”, instable business environment in the region, numerous unknown factors and unresolved issues – were not the arguments to support such a decision. But in September 2008, as a real jewel on the banks of teh Danube, the ”Aquastar Danube” shone. There, 250 kilometers from Belgrade (from where it is possible to come by boat, down the river), almost as many from Niš, 10 kilometers from the magnificent Hydro Power Plant ”Đerdap I”, this small constellation of four stars immediately became a very important address of the Balkan tourism and tru center of the ”Danube Riviera”. From day one, people who manage this modern hotel have proved that they would uncompromisingly comply with their quality standards and continuously improve them, and that guests can get only much more from what was categorized, not less.

”Aquastar Danube” has 45 high quality rooms and nine luxury apartments which, based on their appearance and furnishings, belong to the best in the Central and Lower Danube region. The area of 800 square meters is occupied by the Spa & Wellness Center, which includes (among other things) salt water pool, saunas, Jacuzzi, aroma therapy baths, masseurs, numerous trim and fitness machines that can be used for the preparation of professional athletes.
